Hello, my name is Mary Anderson. I have lived my whole life within 50 miles of my birthplace in Seattle, Washington. The subjects of my paintings are inspired by the land and water of the Pacific Northwest. I finds farms, fishing vessels and Victorian houses irresistible. Flowers and other plants, also find their way into my paintings. Lately, the exotic tropical and desert plants that grow in Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory have become subjects.
I am an instructor of watercolor painting. Most recently, at ArtWorks in downtown Edmonds, Washington. I have taught at Shoreline Community Center, at Edmonds Community College, and for several years taught art to children.
I am a graduate of the University of Washington School of Art.
I am a member of Women Painters of Washington.
I teach a class on Wednesdays, 10am to 1pm at ArtWorks, 200 Dayton St Edmonds, WA 98020.
